I have been interested in the Thompson ProHunter for some time for the ability to change out barrels easily and also have a black powder, but I dont know anyone who has one and the guys at the fun shop dont seem to know much about them in rifle form.

My question is when using a rifle barrel what is the ejection mechanism if any?

Do the shells self-eject partially or fully?

I would be using it in some instances with gloves on in the cold and am wondering how difficult a reload will be to get to a second shot.

It is a break open design.

You open it up and the ejector grabs the shell and pulls it out a little.
You grab the spent cartridge and pull it out the rest of the way.

I just ordered a pro hunter frame and a 460 S&W barrel last week.
I will post pics when I get it set up.
