Just buy it. For $200 it's pretty much a no brainer, more fun than anything else in the price range. Might not be as reliable as a 10/22 or Mossberg 500 in that price range, but it's definitely evil and black and fun. You can also obtain parts kits including everything BUT the receiver on gunbroker. I've seen a number of em lately. I'd buy one for spares while you can. |
IIRC, one lands you in "pound me in the ass prison" and the other is perfectly legal. [Open bolt, semi-automatic firearms are illegal. ATF says they are too easy to convert to fully automatic. I think we should ban cars. They're too easy to run people over with]. |
This is incorrect. It is perfectly legal to own a open bolt Tec 9 so long as it left the factory that way. In 1982 the ATF forced Intratec to switch to a closed bolt design under the guise that open bolt designs made full auto conversions easier. They did not how ever prohibit the possession of existing open bolt guns. |
