slam Joe the Plumber... the man living the American Dream Guess that couple in their late 30s or early 40s in NYC where Johnny is a cop and Jane is a teacher are rich. They will probably make more than $250,000 a year, but the cost of living would put their combined income at an effective $150,000 or less pretty much anywhere else in the nation. Keep attacking Joe the Plumber! |
Exactly. Keep failing and we'll keep bailing you out! Biden is lost. |
|
I'm telling you, this Joe the Plumber may end up being the thing that drives the remaining undecides to McCain and maybe even shift a few votes. He's an average guy running a business and wanting to hire others, and he was told pretty much point-blank that he's the enemy by a pompous elitist. That's not going to play well in the heartland. The fact that Biden and Co. are having to answer for it speaks volumes. I hope they club them over the head with Joe right up to the election. |
Their idea of small business is the one person kiosk in a mall or someone with a Tahitian Noni juice magnet stuck to the door of their car. Joe the plumber has no place in their world because he might actually employ someone other than himself. |
NPR was calling him a poor businessman for not having a tax accountant advise him on how to incorporate.

Wonder why Iowa is still polling so high for Obama... guess they don't realize that "small business" farmers are going to be fooked. Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois farm economies will be decimated by a 250k tax increase.
Shades of Hillary's comment that "It's not our fault if small businesses are undercapitalized". |
![]() Oh man! That's rich!
|
They know exactly what a small business is defined as. They are counting on the fact that most Americans don't know what a small business is defined as. |
If you include independent truckers, hair stylists that "rent" space at a beauty salon, and sole proprietor construction firms that work for contractors, you'd probably be able to skew the stats to show 98% at under $250K-change the criteria to 5-20 employees, not so much. |
It has a better chance than the birth certificate thing. I am glad to see some normalcy return to this campaign cycle. Joe the plumber is a legitimate issue and I hope that the people who own small businesses or are thinking about starting small businesses are awake! |
Oh, we're awake. The problem is there isn't enough of us to make a difference. They didn't pick that 250k cutoff arbitrarily. I'm quite certain that we'll no longer be making $250+ if Barack the socialist and Joe the dolt come to power. |
It's amazing.
Where ON EARTH would one get this information??? From the fucking FAQs at www.sba.gov/ |
