I never understood the mentality that you're doing other people a favor by staying at home. If you want to do other people a favor, just be courteous with your germs. Use tissues, don't leave them laying around everywhere, don't sneeze all over other people's offices, maybe use a disifectant gel or something or wash your hands often. It's not that hard. I always go to work if I'm sick unless it's one of the (very rare) occasions where I'm physically incapable of moving around for very long. I'm generally a healthy person, though, and I get sick maybe once a year or 18 months and usually it's just trivial discomfort. |

The secretary/receptionist at my office is sick 364 days a year. I'm convinced she is no longer human, but rather a pile of flab animated by relatively intelligent bacteria. The silver-lining is I am exposed to so many infectious diseases so routinely that my immune system has been exercised to herculean strength. I eat AIDs for breakfast, put mustard on it, and eat the fucking shit. So, to sum-up, do your co-workers a favor and go cough in their faces. |
