[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Decent Liberals (Page 1 of 2)

| Is there such a thing? Why do so many flock to the continued stream of retardation that they spew? Somebody help me figure this out. |
|
There are liberals that are good people....to say otherwise makes us look as hateful as many of the more fanatical libs. C'mon, seriously, many want what they consider to be the right thing for everyone...they genuinely think socialist type programs are good for everyone and that gun control will make people safer. Obviously they're wrong, and you could argue that they're living in a fantasy world but not that they're bad people (of course some are) |
|
Sure, there are decent libs. Misguided and ignorant blissninnies, but still decent. Now, the ones that are unrepentant Marxist statist fucks who want their twisted visions implemented into public policy: they are scum and need to be [coc violation] and [coc violation] painfully, then [coc violation] [coc violation] by their [coc violation] until they are [coc violation]. |
Sometimes liberals forget to be indecent and become decent. It only lasts for a few minutes or hours though. |
I live in a REALLY Blue county. There are plenty of decent people who just think socialism works. Lots and lots of really nice, down to earth people who have almost a polar opposite worldview than me. Then there are also assholes who expect everything to be given to them for free. 9 times out of 10, they have a bumper sticker that says something like "I'm already opposed to the next war" next to their Obama sticker. (The tenth has a "W" sticker on the back of their car, just to show that liberals don't have the asshole me mentality market covered.) |
| What about Bill Richardson? It says there that the NRA endorsed him, and he has a better gun stance than some republican politicians. |
| Of course there are. Just as many people espouse conservative values for the wrong reasons (88s, etc), many people lean left for what they truly believe are noble reasons. We have a responsibility to suppress our instinctive reaction to mutter "Dumbasses" and walk away when they spout their nonsense. We have the ability to enlighten many members of the opposition, and we must exercise that. If we are to win the struggle, we must recognize that it can be won! |

+2 The problem is that conservative thought requires reflection, intelligence and logic. Liberal thought requires raw emotion and a complete abandonment of logic and intelligence. In order to embrace liberalism (in its present form - secular humanism/socialism) you must deny the undeniable failures of their dogma in history and pursue those ideals in the present regardless. In my mind that negates any moral 'decency' in a liberal. |
+1 there are many decent liberals, there are many wack job "conservatives" and there are centerists on both sides. the desire to help fellow man is a human trait, we are for the most part herd animals with the few. percentage wise, loners IE sheepdogs and sheep. conservatives want to help people as THEY want to help thru charities and churchs liberals want to help people through a central government all the time there are even Liberal Christians... though That I find an oxymoron but a good person is a good person. unfortunatly I truly beleive true Evil has taken over the house and the senate via Pelosi and Ried and their blind followers.

If Bill Richardson were running against McCain, I might vote for him. |
Yup I was thinking that too. I think I am fairly decent , but only my conservative friends think I am a liberal. My liberal friends (most of my friends) think I am a conservative. So I am probably doing something right. |
She nailed it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c |

All of the liberals I know are kooks. I only know one person who is voting for Obama who is not a batshit crazy liberal. he's a good friend of mine, a very decent, honest, and trustworthy guy. I've knowh him 10 years now. The problem is he works with a bunch of moonbats. He was never interested in politics before 6 months ago... so he really doesn't know much yet. I talked to him the other night, and like a lot of Barry's supporters, he just doesn't "get it". He pretty much believes all the Bush = McCain BS. I asked him why he was voting for Obama, and his answer was "McCain's policies are just becoming to Rove-ish for me to agree with." I asked him which policies, and he didn't really know specifically. He said he would check on it... I probably won't be able to sway him before the election, but there's only so much I can do. He's also 32, never voted... and last year was the first year he remembered to fill out his taxes in about 8 years. Nice guy, though. If he goes moonbat, I'll still disown him. |
Cannot top this comment. |
I think I hurt somebody's feelings with my question. Oh, wait a minute, my head is starting to hurt from all this thinking!!! |
|
I have known a few liberals who are also gun enthusiasts and supporters of the Second Amendment. They are rare, but there are some out there. Almost no one is perrfectly "conservative" or perfectly "liberal" by the way. Most people are a hodge-podge of different opinions on various subjects. People just TEND to be more one way or the other. Some of the most conservative people I have ever known have had one or two wildly liberal opinions on certain subjects. |
+1 And the further to the left they get, the less of a clue they have about what they think they believe it. It becomes a group ideas that they wish something was better but actions they choose to change it will have the exact opposite effect. |
Well this would explain the band-aids on the backs of their necks

Nice guy, though.
