| Coors Light isn't as good as Bud Light. |
|
I work about 1 mile from the Coors brewery. I can go there any time for the short (or long) tour for free samples, and the freshest coors you can get can be aquired in 10 minutes or less. I'd rather have a Sam Adams, Fat tire or local Microbrew. ok, there, I've said it. [flame suit on] |
Nooo Shit. You guys get Saranac out there? Its brewed about a half hour from here. Around here its the Applebees craft beer; available everywhere. The Pumpkin is pretty good. Smutty Nose also makes a pretty good Pumpkin Ale. |
Ja! Sehr gut! ![]() _MaH |
Has the taste of Coors Light changed in the past year or so. I drank a case during a 6 day vacation in SC. It seems to taste more like Bud now, verses relatively tasteless flavor before. |
The king of all pumpkin ales is Dogfish Head's Punkin'. No contest. Most pumpkin beers are just a brown ale with corriander, allspice and other pumpkin pie-like spices added. DFH actually uses whole fire-roasted pumpkin flesh in the mash and the flavor of the fruit comes through shining in the final product. The spice is moderate and mosty from the hops. It's almost velvety and the smooth sweetness of the pumpkin is outstanding. Nothing wrong with the other beers, mind you, but they're more apropriately called "pumpkin PIE beer," since that's what the flavor profile really is. For real roasted pumpkin flavor, there is no choice but DFH. |
I haven't had either regular strength Coors or the Silver Bullet in many years. I seemed to remember the Silver Bullet was rather flavorless, aside from a peculiar "leafy" taste, I did not like. The regular Coors didn't have that leafy taste, but I remember it being clean like a light beer. |
Franziskaner |

My absolute favorite beer is Michelob. My basic beer is Bud Light, but I'm kinda pissed at AB for rolling over so easy, so I'm drinking more and more Heineken Light, which beats the pants off Bud Light anyway but costs nearly twice as much. ![]() Other beers I enjoy on a regular basis are: Modelo Spaten Pacifico Kirin Ichiban I don't mind an ice cold regular Coors or two in a bottle only. And Tecate tastes FAR BETTER than Corona. To me, there's two alcohol product that are the worst of their kind but have such a great advertising campaign (kinda like the demonrat party) that people regard them as premium products: Corona and Jose Cuervo. |
Mmmmmm Franziskaner Dunkel-Weiss. Tastes like liquid banana nut bread. Their weiss is good but I prefer Schneider Weisse, Weihenstephaner, or Ayinger most of the time. |
Some would call me a beer snob. I don't shit on other people for what they drink, but I don't enjoy beers like Coors, Bud, etc. That said, there are tons of good beers made in the US. Saying that everything made here is horrible is just plain ignorance or dishonesty. |
Weihenstephaner makes (in my opinion) the finest traditional weisse I've tasted. Hacker-Pschorr also makes a decent one. |
Not true, I just can't get a taste for it. |
That's a big +1 on the Spaten..... that is my favorite beer.... nothing made here here in the states can touch it.... |
Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale > DFH Punkin' |
