So I'm about done with my degree, and the last couple courses are available online OR by video:  as a podcast.

I have a second gen ipod touch, with 2.1.1 and i'm running itunes 8 on windows XP.

The podcast won't load to my ipod.  "this video wasn't loaded because it can't be played on this ipod".

The video is an MP4 in H.264, which is supposed to be the format that is recognized.

This is the page that has the individual videos, and the itunes subscription address is at the bottom:
www.uvsc.edu/disted/videos/hum1010.php

I know itunes has a choice in the advanced menu that will "convert video for ipod or ipone", but since this video is 150 + megs, and is almost an hour long, converting would take about two hours, per video, to convert.

Am I missing something simple?  Or just SOL?

What size is the video?

I know my iphone wont play anything bigger than 480 x 320.

That could be your issue.

Sorry man, I am at a loss now.

Have you viewed podcasts of this type before?

You can always convert it to m4v or whatever iTunes likes.

They play fine on itunes, but i haven't gotten them to play on the ipod.  I have no idea either.  Everything looks right, it just doesn't work.

Well, I just got off the phone with the school.  They're redoing the videos, and will be fixed by friday.  The guy on the phone didn't know what the deal was either.

Apple locked that file out on you.  There's meta-data in the file that needs to be included before the file will synch.  Look for a utility call NicMP4Box.  You can use it to process the file.  Or use Quicktime Pro and convert to iPod

No kidding, rock on.  I actually have a few others that I want to play on there, too.
