My TV is shitting the bed, I am not really rolling in dough at the moment so I figure I want to buy a new one. I am looking at a screen size of around 30-32". I am setting my budget at around 5-600 but would like to keep it lower if at all possible. I found a few budget 32" TV's hovering around the 500 range online. I also saw soem cheaper HD ready TV's, can someone explain what exactly this means? All I have been able to ascertain is that it can be converted to HD if I so desire. I don't currently get HD service so it's not a huge issue to me. I'd just rather have a larger flat screen (I am also ok with a DLP) that I can watch TV and play COD4 on. I looked into DLP's and I don't see any in the 30" range. I am new to TV shopping so if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it it, places to stay away from etc.. Steve |

Right now I have an old 20" Insignia (best buy brand) tube TV I bought when I was in college. The picture works fine but the damn thing buzzes so bloody loud and at such a high pitch that it hurts my fiance and my ears to the point where we need to turn it off to give our ears a break int he middle of movies. |

If you want something that size and you're on a budget get a CRT. Heck I've still got my 30" 1080i phillips CRT I'd sell for $250 plus shipping, but you can probably do just as well elsewhere. HD ready just means it doesn't have an OTA receiver in it, it'll work fine in HD for cable or satellite. |
