I just upgraded to 3.0 and it seems to have a massive glitch. When I first open it it works fine but if I close it and then reopen it nothing works. It will no longer take me to my homepage, No bookmarks, no forward or back buttons and it always shows any website I open as constantly updating. Any Ideas?

Every time I try to right click and save a pic lately, it crashes.  Today I tried to attach a file to an email while in firefox and that made it crash as well.

I am on 3.0.1, I've been using firefox for quite a while now, but am about ready to look for something better.

I'm wondering if it is because I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate?
Does anyone know if there is an issue in 64bit?

Well, shiittee, I seem to remember that Firefox was the greatest thing there ever was, everyone should dump IE, Bill Gates sucks, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah.

Yet, somehow, I keep seeing threads like this and none about how IE sucks.  Hmmm.

IE is slower than FF on my computer and uses more memory.  /shrug

The only issue I've had with FF3 is that sometimes when I open a new tab or window by clicking on a link, it will say "Cannot open" so that I have to click reload or reclick the link.

I don't think it has anything to do with Vista. I'm having the exact same issues with FF 3.0 as the OP is having, and I'm running XP.

FF works fine for me. I dig it. Love my extensions. Great browser, and it's what I use wherever possible.

The thing is, I know better than to judge people's ability WRT computers, based on something as stupid as a browser. I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of it.

I've been using firefox 3 since it was released.  The only problem was the first few days with add-ons not being compatible.  But I also like Vista so what would I know?

I use it,

I have problems with some web sites now, such as Mapquest. I can not use the magnification tool.

I have the last version of FF on the other computer and it is staying that way.

This may sound dumb, but the reason I use FF over EE is one single button, and it's one of the most common buttons used.  The homepage button on FF refreshes the page and is a large button.  I can't get the homepage button on IE to refresh the page when I click it, and the refresh button is really small and towards the corner of the screen.  I'm on a 22" monitor running 1680x1080, and it just annoys the shit out of me to have to scroll all the way up and click that button.

Between Arfcom and Drudge I refresh a lot, and I don't like having to hit the F5 key to do it.  Maybe I'm just inept in not being able to find out how to make IE do the same thing, if I could get it to I would definitely be using IE, it seems much snappier to me.

I have tried turning all the add-ons off on FF and still no dice, every time I try to save a pic or do anything other than just browse it wants to crash on me as of late.

ETA: I also completely uninstalled it including all the add-ons and then reinstalled it, same thing.

Ctrl + enlarges your print & graphics...

The 'small print' problem is due to websites being optimized for 17" screens running at 1024x768 (or worse, 800x600)

The thing I *like* about FF is that they have not jumped on the 'We will force you to use your computer differently' bandwagon like MS and some of the more isoteric browsers have...

I don't want a 'new and enlightened' interface (see IE7, latest version of MS Office, etc)....

I want the same damn interface I've been using in web browsers since IE2 - forward/back buttons, a refresh, a stop and a home... And an address bar...

None of this 'hide all the buttons' (or hide all the menus, in Office) crap....

Some folks need to be forced to do what's right, when they've demonstrated they can't make good decisions on their own.

I like the new Office menu, after getting used to it.

1. When using Firefox the videos are sometimes not smooth. They kind of pause or hesitate. When I use IE they're smooth all the time.

2. In IE when I'm done watching a video on, say, Break.com, when I hit the back button I go right back to point where I was in the list of videos on the main page. In Firefox when I hit the back button, it takes me back to the TOP of the main page. So I have to scroll down to where I was. It's annoying.

I love firefox.  It does things that other browsers don't do that I use a lot.  I have a ton of addons on mine.  It might not be as well suited for others.  I could really give a shit less.  We're all going to the same internet.
