So i can plug 3 things into 1 tv outlet or am i screwed.  i can cut it to 2 with component cables but thats it.  i tink im screwed

You could buy an HDMI switch. 2 way manual switches aren't that expensive but remote switches and switches with more ports get considerably more expensive.

invest in a decent AV receiver... an onkyo with HDMI switching can be had for a reasonable price...

What are you trying to "split"?

Are you trying to send the same output signal to several different devices, or are you trying to send several different input signals to the same device?

And what "TV outlet" are you talking about?

Would an HDMI switch like this do what you need?

There are other brands and models on the market that do the same thing, I just linked this one because of the diagram of what it does on the web page.

Don't forget to get any HDMI cables you need, monoprice HDMI cables are cheap and work.
