Another thread sidetracked my thought process to this subject. We know some people who adopted a couple of biracial babies. Of course, they're both white.

So it's kinda like what most likely happened for this internet legend:

I don't know if I could do that. I'm not one of those people who walks around worried about what other people are thinking, but I don't know that I'd be comfortable knowing there was that sort of unfounded Jerry/Maury speculation going on by people.

I know a substantial amount of families that have done interracial adoptions, some were successful, some were not as much.

its all in how you raise the child. not what color they are.

That's the norm for people adopting kids here, most blacks and Asians are adopted.

One of my relatives adopted a beautiful, dark haired, olive skinned package of joy from Romania.

The second the kid landed in this country, she became IRISH.

The family needed some new blood, anyway.

I would NEVER adopt a child of another race.  Not because I wouldn't be comfortable, but because they would lack the "cultural" upbringing from people of their own race.  However, I'm not against it, children need parents.

At my church there are several white families(with white children) that have adopted black children.  It is apparent that there have been a few challenges, but, by and large the families seem very normal and well adjusted.

I really despise that "owned" picture of the white couple with the black child.  It may be that they adopted that child.

That's exactly my point, and I'm specifically talking about the bi-racial kids where it would appear very feasible that my wife gave birth. You would have to subject yourself to that sort of stuff. I don't think I'd want to deal with that. Kudos to the people who do. They are stronger than I, and they provide those kids with a home.

ive seen alot of black couples with asian kids

in general white kids are more desirable because most adopting parents are white.
The waiting lists are long.
So white couples with alot of love to give adopt a baby the fastest way they can,
usually a child of color.

There have been alot of hidden health issues with babies from Eastern Europe
especially Russia

I come from a family that adopted an Asian child.  Everything was peachy.

I support adoption, but would hesitate to actually adopt a child depending on where they were from.
