I am taking several online college courses (15 credit hours) and I work full time and volunteer too. I have to watch a DVD Lecture every week for each class and am only allowed to check media out for one day at a time. There is no cost to check them out but there are huge late fees if you have them more than one day, but the college does let you check out many at one time. The drive is pretty far to the college so I figured I'd just check out all the DVDs at once and copy all the DVDs so I can get to my classwork whenever I can when I'm not at work without spending tons of money on gas or worrying about late fees.  I guess that'll keep the DVDs more available to the other students as well. I've never copied a DVD... what's some free software that'll do the job? Running XP...

Thanks guys, I'll give it a go. Demos should be fine as this should only be a days project (I hope?) At least until next semester

Back in the day when I was making *ahem* legal copies of personal DVDs, this is the combination I used.

for legal copying of dvds I recommend dvd shrink 3.2 and dvd decrypter for dual layer disks if you don't want to compress the file to fit on a single layer disk.

I've been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Fab 5.  Have good results as long as the discs aren't too beat up.
