Impact Simulation from Meteor

Seems like all the survivalists out there would be SOL.

Well.  That was uplifting.

I've had worse.

Yeah, that would be one the size of the Moon...pretty rare.

Plus there would be a lot of advanced warning. Humanbeings would prepare and some would survive.

I don't think anyone's "preps" are directed at an ELE.

Me?  I'd grab a beer and a smoke and head out to the roof and watch the show.

yeah... some things we just won't survive.  Unless we all get together and simultaneously fire rounds at the giant planetoid as it's coming in.  We may just be able to deflect it before it hits us.  But we'll have to use AK-47s; the AR just doesn't hit hard enough to defeat something like that.

I didn't know they used the Death Star during Operation British.

Yes, I'm a geek.

Not after one that size hits the planet...That is a Total lifeforms Killer!

The way I understand it is this...

Not even Bacteria would survive!

But it wouldnt take one that big to wipe the planet of life..That was listed
as 500KM...That is HUGE!...

One that was 10% of that size or 50KM would kill every thing ...EVERYTHING!

One 10% of the 10% (or 5KM) would kill all the mammals, everything that
requires O2 or photosynthesis for life and blacken the earth's skies for a
long,long time!..

No preps would do you any good! Unless they were miles beneath the earth
in a self contained capsule ...Good for about a couple thousand years!..then
you would come to the topside to a planet like Venus or Mercury..Acid rain, little or
no atmosphere...IF I am here I hope it lands right on top of my AO..

I have heard the one that killed the dinosaurs was only from 3-5 miles long!

Actually, if we loaded up all the Glocks in the world, put them on a rocket and fired it at the planetoid, it would probably disintegrate it into nothing more than harmless dust, headed in a different direction!  I didn't think of that, thanks!

Now, to start writing NASA with my suggestions.

Yea, I think with a deep enough bunker and a few MREs I should be ok.....I've seen worse.

The end of the video says their is evidence of this happening 6 times. Not sure of the size of the 6 meteors though.
