Yeah I know there is a subforum for it here but GD gets better exposure and is more lively.

Hung a couple promissing stands over the holiday weekend and cleared lanes in a few others.  Saw 6 real nice bucks in the area I hunt also.  Five 8pts and a 7pt, all wider than their ears.  Funny thing, last Wednesday I saw these deer all together in a bachelor group and they were in full velvet and then saw four of them 2 days later and their velvet was gone.  I read that it gets shed in a a day or two..  Pretty cool.  Will be out with the bow practicing in the evenings for the remainder of the fall..  I cant wait..

September 27th is our opener and I can't wait.  I've been practicing all summer with my new recurve so maybe it will pay off.

Wouldn't you like to know!  Actually I hunt WMU 2C, more like a couple farms and old stripmine areas there.  Many of the old strip mines are now grwon up thick and hold decent buck populations.  The PGC has become dependent on doe tag revenue though so the numbers are not what they used to be.  Used to see piles of deer but they were mostly does, now we have a better ratio.  Interestingly enough  I shot my first buck about a 1/2 mile from the impact of Flight 93..  My mother went to HS in Shanksville and lived a coulple miles from the site most of her life.

Sounds like you are good to go.  I leave this Thursday for elk and then will be going each weekend until the end of the season on the 22nd.  Of course I have to tell my wife I will be shooting one on the first weekend so I won't need to go on the remaining weekends.  Can't wait to hear the bugles.

We've been seeing some deer on our property. My uncle said he's seen two nice bucks. I may have to pull my bow out( ) and start practicing....no rifle season in this county.

My bow is at the shop getting a new drop away arrow rest.  I'm looking forward to the season, AND an invite to bowhunt in W. Virginia in mid NOVEMBER.

I was out chasing geese Monday and jumped 5 large does in a little field.  I know where I will be hanging my stand this weekend.  Gonna cut some lanes and plot my routes to sneek in and out.  Come on 9-27.

This past weekend I went over to my dad's farm and late Friday night we took a drive.  In 8 miles we counted 263 deer.  We had 3 bucks run across the road in front of us, all of which were at least 10-pointers and probably 16"+ across.

I can't wait until rifle season starts in Nov.  There are WAY more deer this year than last.

Our bow season starts in two weeks, I'm all over it. I like bow hunting better than gun hunting, a bit more of a challenge.

The bucks I've seen so far this year have been NICE.

Must be a good year for them.
