If i bought a pistol in one state and move to another is there any laws or transfers i need to look into.

Depends on the State.
Move to a free State like TN, GA or LA, for example, then there are no hoops to jump through.

The pistol is your property, however you must possess it legally where you are at any given time. So check the laws of the state you are moving to. There is no transfer involved as that is an ownership issue, not a possession issue.
