Looking for an easy sharpener. Really really can't get the hang of the stones. Would much prefer something like from an infomercial. anyone know of any of those that work?

Lanksy.

I've been using one that I bought in the mid 80s - wore a few stones out though, and replaced them.

Spyderco Sharpmaker.  Easy and works great.

Don't use one of those V sharpeners with the carbide blades.  They work fine but they remove way too much metal from your blades.

I've got a Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker; it works pretty well.

A friend of mine that is a meat cutter at a grocery store has a $25 electric one from Wal-Mart ( I know, I know ) but I gave him my two SOG Flash II's that I carry daily so he could sharpen up the one I use for utility and put an extra sharpness on the one I carry for "just in case"....

It worked!   He used the electric thing for about 2-5 minutes and then had me use the honing thingy immediately thereafter to make it better.

I just picked up a Gatco Diamond system on ebay for $23. It's like a Lansky.

Spyderco.

Got mine when I got levied to the Berlin Brigade (when there was a Berlin Brigade).  Has been part of my kit for years now.

Spyderco.

Fantastic and actually works. The Lansky got dumped several moves ago. BSW

Anything resembling this

Family got something similar when I was 10 or so, as soon as I moved out, I bought another similar one.

It's pretty damned hard to screw up with them, and they will get shit razor sharp.  All my foodie friends love using my knives - it's stupid simple to keep them sharp enough to slice a ripe tomato paper thin.

ETA:

I have This

It stores round ceramic sharpeners in it's base, it has two different angles - a narrow one for rough sharpening, and a slightly shallower one for honing. Once the work with the narrower angle, with the rougher cermaics has been done, the finer cermaics in the shallower angle can re-hone a blade in a suprisingly short amount of time.

My uncle bought me a SOG GOV TAC today, sharpened it with my Lansky to razor sharp.  Love the Lansky.

Yes. Everything from your EDC pocketknife to your fine kitchen knives.
