cross posted from Urban Commandos subforum for more views-

My wife and I have been asked to update the website for our church. The current website was built using Microsoft Frontpage. The church owns a copy of that software, so we could use that if it's still a good app.

Neither of us have ever built or maintained a website before, so I'd like your advice as far as if this software is still worth using. We've looked at Adobe Dreamweaver, but $400 is a little salty, plus we'd still have to buy Photoshop to go along with it.

If you were building a website today and didn't know or really desire to learn HTML what would you use? Preferably something very intuitive and of course, easy to bring to the parish council to get cost approved!

It doesn't sound like you have much choice but to use Frontpage.  Dreamweaver is much better than Frontpage but it's not the end all solution.  Ideally you'd just create your pages with html and not worry about Frontpage or Dreamweaver but you've stated you don't want to do that.  Also, you don't have to have Photoshop to use Dreamweaver.  There is an open source image application called Paint .NET that is easy to use and free.

Does the church currently have a site?
