I don't want crab grass .
I am thinking  that I might as well give up, Every year money on crab grass  killer, not to mention the time and effort to kill it .

Is there any real reason  to just not have it all  crab  grass  ?

Just put a few flamingos here and there and you should be fine.

If you're a OCD-yard type. Other than that, be happy something grows. God knows everything in my yard is dead, between the heat and lack of rain.

I HATE cutting grass.

I wish I could offer advice. Good luck.

If it is green, and does not hurt my feet, it is "yard".

Good enough.

It grows easy . Don't need fertilizer.
You all have convinced me . I will have a yard of crab grass.

Feel free to walk your dog down the street and have your  dog crap on it.

You don't get rid of crabgrass by killing it with chemicals, you have to choke it out with a more invasive, faster growing, grass.

Least that's the only way I've ever gotten rid of it.

I have everything growing here, and wild rabbits eating it. If I wanted a golf course, I'd make one. There are two things you should never have a heart attack over: mowing the lawn, because winter comes and takes care of it; and shoveling snow, because summer comes and takes care of it!
