My wife has headaches once in a while, which I attribute possibly to her wisdom teeth not being out. She's 25, and her top 2 have already grown in. I mentioned that maybe she needs to get them out, but she is hesitant/scared. It will cost us about $400 with her partial insurance coverage. I dont care about the money, but she says we could useit for somethin else. Heres my question, does she really need them out? since the top 2 are already in, should she just get the bottom 2 out? Can she live with them? |

She can live without them....many people including me have had all wisdom teeth out. Just as many keep them. It depends on the individual. As for whether or not they need to come out....only a dentist or oral surgeon after having x rays can tell you for sure. They may or may not be the cause of her headaches. See a dentist. If they are impacted or growing at a bad angle they will not emerge straight and can damage existing teeth. |
Dude spend the couple of hundred and get it fixed. If one goes bad it will start to effect the other teeth surrounding it. This past winter/spring a spent about 3K + on dental work because I did not want to go to the dentist a few years aback. |

If they're causing no problems, leave them be. I had ONE taken out a few years ago due to it getting a cavity. Why bother to fill a cavity in a wisdom tooth? ![]() So that one (left upper) got taken out and frankly the entire process, including the recovery, was almost completely painless. Just a very mild soreness for the first day or two, easily managed with moderate pain pills. And I DO mean moderate. In fact I was prescribed Darvocet and used ONE of them. Motrin did it after that. I'm 43 and still have 31 out of 32 teeth, and just one tiny filling in one of them. No other issues at all. CJ |
