If you could buy one? Do not include tax. Claymore? Pound of C4? Detonator? Det cord? |
I heard something like that, certainly less than $10. I read last week that there are usually 900,000 in service at any given time. I'll bet economy of scale helps out a bit. |
However, you have to wonder about the sanity of a person that would burn that much money on grenades for recreation. |
If I had a bank account to support that kind of hobby, I'd get a mk19 and blow a hundred gs worth of ammo every time I went to the range. I bet Bill Gates could do it. |
There are dealers, but I suspect you have to run in Class3 DD circles to find/get them, just like guys who own M203's. |
WTF? Have you ever used a grenade? It's like all the joy and stress relief you get from an entire day at the range, all wrapped up in a tiny little package! If I could afford it, I would!

I guess I just enjoy explosions too much.

Just remember that DD's require a whole other FFL type to deal with, from a dealer/transfer perspective. (dealing DD's requires a Type 09 FFL, while dealing in all other Title II stuff requires a Type 01 FFL + Class 3 SOT) I have seen various 40mm projos (explosive) for sale around the web. Of course, since they were on the internet, I don't know whether the offers were legit, but I've never found any legislation (federally) that disallows civvies from having HE DD's. Of course, certain storage requirements do arise when you have a certain amount of explosives lying around... |
