and not about gangsta rap, drugs, hos, pimpin and killing each other? Yeah, I know some of you will never like Hip Hop... but Old School Hip Hop was a lot of fun. The first concert I ever went to in middle school without parents was UTFO at the War Memorial in Syracuse. Didn't matter that half the kids were black and half were white. No violence, no vulgarity from the performers to speak of... just a fun house party, Stumbled across the above video tonight and realized that was 25 years ago. Boy things have taken a turn for the ugly. |
You left out shooting 5 "Oh" Sorry, it was never any good imho. |
Water so clear you can see to the bottom....hundred thousand dolla cars, everybody got 'em.....! |
Summertime! |
Ok, I see your fresh prince and raise you
|
Word to your mutha... ICE, ICE, BABY.... |
|
I'll Raise you an Eazy-E Maybe Gangsta, but still fun. At least you can understand the lyrics. I was smart enough never to go see them in concert because i was to young to CCW legally back when I listened to this crap. |
How bout some Cool Mo Dee? |
Love that song....EasyE was the O.G. |
ummm its Kool Moe Dee, not Cool |
My bad... it's only been 20 years...
|
Thas right! This stone cold brutha delivers the cheese hard core yo....
|
No not Hammer time... More like Kool Moe Dee, Whodini, UTFO, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Slick Rick, early LL Cool J, Doug E Fresh. Kurtis Blow, Roxanne Shante. Hammer, Vanilla Ice... that was produced for MTV garbage, that had no roots in hip hop |
You just couldn't resist, could ya?
|
I always loved the beginning of this song! LMAO every time. Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos Hard to believe they used to play this video on BET and MTV and they would not edit out the N word. And another great one. Express yourself Another good video! |
kind of made the leap to gangsta on me there... I was referencing the pre-gangsta hip hop music |
|
OMG, forgot the ARFCOM GD theme song. Cop bashing is always a fan favorite. |
I would have whored myself for money too. |
yup, it didn't take itself seriously... nobody was going to bust a cap in somebody else over it. |
Duh, of course it was fun. Black guys telling you in made-up words & rhyme how they're they bestest DJ ever over and no one else compares is great stuff. Talking on top of a 909 drum machine will always be a magical skill that few possess. And by few I mean every black male ever born, and the '85 Bears too. |
