That's not anything that can be fixed. It's not an uncommon problem with budget brands like LG. (Sorry...it's just true.) The LCD screen has flexible connectors that are literally glued to it with a very pliable silicone adhesive, all around its outer edge there the LCD's electrical connections to the outside world are located. They're actually printed directly on the glass of the LCD panel, and the connectors are secured via a special adhesive and then the silicone for some stability. And to make it more complicated, there are microprocessors in each cable assembly (and there are maybe sixteen cable assemblies) and the whole thing is rather fragile. Through many heating up and cooling down cycles as you turn the monitor on and use it and then shut it down when it cools off, and the inevitable deterioration due to heating in and of itself, a connection on a vertical pixel row has broken down and the ones next to it will be going bad shortly if they haven't already done so. There's no cure. All you can do is live with it as long as you can stand it, and then get another monitor. But next time, spring for a better brand. I suggest Samsung or Sony. LG stands for Lucky Goldstar. It's a budget brand and if it holds up, you're supposed to thank your LUCKY gold STARS. Buy quality and you buy less often. Buy cheap and you will buy again before too long. CJ |

Thanks for the help. Im gonna go ahead and live with it as long as possible. When it gets destroyed ill post pics. Just for kicks ive marked it with a sharpie so i can see its progression. Ill estimate another half hour before It stretches all the way to the top and bottom. It is pretty old for computer stuff anyway. I think i got it about 1999? |
