Is an ID required to purchase HCM's (or any other gun parts & ammo) in Nevada?

I wouldn't think so, but I'm a socialist state where you can't get them at all and need ID for Ammo purchases.

Thanks.

HCM is liberal loony moonbat speak for High Capacity Magazine

and to answer your question, as far as I'm aware, nevada is a free state. no such silly requirements.

No, unless the store asks you for one, you should be g2g, just be sure the magazine body doesn't have have a date of manufacture on it and don't use it in an off list rifle with a bullet button or prince 50 kit and evil features.

You can buy whatever you want in Nevada with the exception of firearms without the need for showing any ID at all (unless you use a CC and they want ID to verify you are who you say you are).  I know that residents from adjacent states like Utah etc. can buy long guns here but I am not sure if dealers will sell to Kali residents.  The laws in Nevada are not what you have to worry about.....it's the laws in Kali that will screw you over.

I'd move before I'd commit a felony.

No, but importing them into the PRK as assembled HCMs is a felony.

ID for ammo purchases? I just bought 700 rounds today at two stores. Neither store asked me for ID

There it is.  Please don't do anything stupid or illegal.  NV is getting blamed enough for Californians and their crimes.

BTW, post #1?  What are you, and 'undercover investigative reporter' with an anti-gun agenda?  Wouldn't be the first time....

He probably needs the ID for ammo because he looks like he is 12 years old.  He probably is 12 years old.  Go tell your Mother you're embarrassing the state again.

If you are actually an adult.

Step 1 - Go to the CA Hometown Forum.  Read the legal summaries at the top.

And assembling high cap magazines from parts is also a felony.  You can repair existing magazines you legally owned before the ban on new ones came in to effect.  Keep the old parts to show you repaired and not feloniously assembled.

I guess some people need to learn that stupid hurts the hard way.

It's a brilliant idea to post on the internet your intent to commit a felony when the ATF and numerous California LEO's frequent this site.

China?

As has been said above, no ID required for ammo purchase in CA, unless look underage (21yo for handgun ammo, 18 for everything else). I can't think of a time ever where I've been carded buying ammo. I would imagine California's not the only state that prevents minors from buying ammunition.

As has been said above, it's a FELONY to import "High Capacity Ammunition Feeding Devices" into California without a CA-DOJ Permit (if you don't know what this permit is, you probably don't have one). It boggles the mind that you would have to ask if it was proper or legal to buy something prohibited in California out of state for the purpose of importing it back into the state.

Most (if not all) of the things it's illegal to buy in California are also illegal to import into California. Surely you know this.

If this is a troll, masterful first post.

The ONLY way this guy could be legit is if he used to live in MD (where you cannot buy "HCM", but it is perfectly legal to drive to VA, fill your car with "HCM" and drive back to MD with 'em) and has just moved to Cali.

Otherwise, troll or reporter.

Yup. Either obey CA law, or move. Whichever you choose, it's never smart to ask folks on a public forum advice about commiting a felony.

I appreciate the input from all.
I spent a few days reading the regs from other posts regarding the laws, what's legal, illegal, and most likely illegal in Kalifornia for HCM's.
I would never import a high capacity magazine into this glorious people's state.
My question was only theoretical.
I'm just a jealous bastard wanting what he can't have.
Just seems such a waste having my first AR and not only being limited to a 10-round Mag, but also having to leave it fixed because it has a friggin pistol grip.
I apologize if my first post caused annoyance.
I must say that I envy all the free-staters out there and hope to enjoy it myself one day after I retire.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Commiting a felony is stupid.

It's as simple as that.

The gangbangers in Cal. don't worry about the rules we are speaking of, therefore they would never ask this question
