| Apparently, there is a Scheels being built and opening about .50hrs away from my house. Nobody I've talked to knows what the hell this place is, but I just looked at their website and it seems to be quite a place...Ferris Wheel, Candy Shop, Starbucks, Guns/ ammo, Hunting, Fishing, Outdoor, Snow sports, etc... hell, it sounds like it's only missing an H&R Block and a titty bar. Does anyone have experience w/ them? |
Oh, from what I was reading it seemes lke it was going to kick our Cab's ass. Good to know though. Hopefully they'll actually keep things in stock unlike our Cabelas and have halfway trained people working there. |

I have one about 50 miles from home. As far as firearms and ammo go, they are priced pretty high. While their handguns are under glass, their long arms are all out on the floor where you can play with them as much as you want. Ours just recently started carrying black rifles. (within the last year or so) |

I refuse to support Scheel's. From 1994 to 2004 they refused to deal with "Post ban" EBR's, even M1A's that were not restricted, in any way. When the ban sunset all of a sudden there were glass cases of DPMS rifles everywhere trying to cash in. Fuck them in the mouth. |

There's one here in Lincoln, NE. They are much friendlier than the two Cabela's I've been to. They have hunting guns, handguns, black rifles, reloading stuff, etc. Decent selection, especially for the hunting stuff, but it's grossly overpriced. As mentioned, the handguns are under glass, as are some (all?) of the optics. I'd buy from them before Cabela's. They have a fudge shoppe too!

Good to see they haven't adopted the neutered sporting goods store mentality and have progressed in a more positive, forward direction. |
