The Vag Com diagnostic tool for VW-Audi cars. It works with any laptop to replicate all the functions of the factory scan/adjustment tool. It is not only a OBD scan tool for VW-Audi cars, it also allows customization of most of the electronics in the car. For example, my car used to have a beep when locking and unlocking. I reset it to stealth mode, unlock is on flash of parking lights, lock is 2 flashes. On the Audi, I reset the power windows so when I held the unlock on the remote, all 4 windows would roll down. Perfect for hot days. Or I could stop the unrolling at any time. For the VW, it is required to set injection timing of the pump. Timing is electonically controlled but getting it to the mechanical mid point is impossible without this tool. The Audi has an output torque sensor, used for detection of misfire conditions. By using Vag Com to log torque output along with engine RPM, there is no need for a dyno! Way cool on the drag strip for tuning as you can swap parts and then see what improvement it made! Later versions of the software covered this functionality. Yeah, it also recorded the road speed so in addition to a dyno, it also functions as a track computer. |
