I've got lots of favorites but I'm probably one of the few on ARFCOM that has one of these.

It is a 25lb Little Giant power hammer. Mine was built in 1935. It was originally powered by a wide leather belt that was connected to a shaft powered by steam. It has been converted to run on a 1 hp electric motor.

Oh and don't freak out over the uncovered insulation. These are old pictures and everything is covered and to code.

I don't care how old or new, clean or ugly, there can't possibly be a more useful object than a well tooled Bridgeport.

I cant even cut stuff for me on it.  Its kept busy cutting/punching all the stuff we need at work.  Itd be pretty awesome to cut a 5x10 sheet of metal into ak flats in about an hour.

The Vag Com diagnostic tool for VW-Audi cars.  It works with any laptop to replicate all the functions of the factory scan/adjustment tool.  It is not only a OBD scan tool for VW-Audi cars, it also allows customization of most of the electronics in the car.  For example, my car used to have a beep when locking and unlocking.  I reset it to stealth mode, unlock is on flash of parking lights, lock is 2 flashes.

On the Audi, I reset the power windows so when I held the unlock on the remote, all 4 windows would roll down.  Perfect for hot days.  Or I could stop the unrolling at any time.

For the VW, it is required to set injection timing of the pump.  Timing is electonically controlled but getting it to the mechanical mid point is impossible without this tool.

The Audi has an output torque sensor, used for detection of misfire conditions.  By using Vag Com to log torque output along with engine RPM, there is no need for a dyno!  Way cool on the drag strip for tuning as you can swap parts and then see what improvement it made! Later versions of the software covered this functionality.  Yeah, it also recorded the road speed so in addition to a dyno, it also functions as a track computer.
