Does anybody know Cobb that well to know if he had any guns stolen from him?

I ask this because I bought a gun that has HUN  inscribed in two places on it!

I ask this only because if it were actualy one of his I would retrurn it to his daughter or kin,if they could describe the gun ,and where the inscriptions were placed!

Maybe nothing more than it was a HUN killer ,maybe more!

Whom knows.

I don't know but he has some really close friends here!  I really don't know but I just tossed it out there (just like if I had bought a gun with Beerslayer on it I would have I'm him about it)cause he is still here!

Probably nothing but you never know!

Many folks use hun as a nickname and other things. IF he did have guns stolen, I think he would be relieved if not happy that it ended up in the hands of an arfcommer instead of a criminal.

I plan on riding down there and snooping around soon (only about an hour away). I believe I found the local funeral home and will ask them where he is interned.  might do it this week.

What was his full name?

Henry Wayne Cobb, Jr.  Wayne to his friends if I remember correctly.  I was never fortunate enough to meet him but read many of his posts during my lurking days.

If it was reported stolen or was registered to him a simple check by Law Enforcement computer would confirm it.

+1

He always struck me as a smart and wise man. There are so few people like him in the world... it was a big loss for this site.

I wish I could have met him in person. I envy those here who had the chance to know him away from arfcom.

One thing I know for sure:  There are some firearms ETH buried somewhere...just for rainy days.

I am wearing a Hun Farm T shirt right now.

Wayne would have not "inscribed" HUN on a firearm.

Also his family would not have known where he would have done so even if he had.

Met him briefly at The Farm.  Missed everyone there once, just a smoldering campfire and a dead snake.

Simply, to me, he was the voice of sanity and calm in a world of confusion and derision.  He saved my bacon on here a few times when I was getting pummeled by the masses.

It was beside the hut thing.  It was 2 pm on a Sunday, I'd thought there would be some hard core leftovers but they had all booked.  Driving a tan M1009, I saw someone leaving in a green M1010 (CUCV ambulance).

What you would read about Wayne will be the EXACT thing you would read about Lee verses Sherman and his walk to the sea!

And Eric allways said it like he felt it!

I just wanted to know if I spent 1200 on a gun that I needed to send to his family!

And I want to keep it and Wayne alive!

Our Hun was the smartest non-technical person I've ever known and a truly nice man.

He would kick my ass here on the board about some Israel argument and then we would get on the phone and laugh.  Once I was losing badly over how much money Israel extracted from US taxpayers.  Right in the middle on the duel, The Hun emailed me a link to some killer information to use AGAINST him in the duel !!

Some how he managed to still kick my ass !!

I had corresponded with Wayne many times, here and email.  I only first met him in May of 05 at his place.  I had left San Antonio at ~5:30 PM and drove non-stop to his place, getting there sometime between midnight and 1 AM.  The campfire was magical, even if I woke up next morning with a raging hang-over.

Even though my sole meeting in real life was limited to a single weekend some 3 years ago, I feel as I have known him most of my life.

Wayne is interred in the Crowell Cemetary, off Highway 6 south of Crowell and on FM 98.

Bring a Windex Margarita and leave some empty brass.  Share some of that Margarita with Wayne.  It probably won't be perfect, that is ok because he knows it is of this Earth.

This is a thread to savor, if only for the bitterness of our human weakness in having Wayne ripped from us too early.  Wayne isn't here to keep the peace, to settle the arguements or to interject calm logic.

That is fine.  I still have a can of Cobb Farm Soil.  No, it isn't for sale.

Speaking of Wayne's legendary Windex, here it is compliments of DPeacher who learned it from the Master himself.

3 parts Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix
1 part Gold Tequila (Cuervo or Sauza)
1 splash Triple Sec
1 splash Blue Curacao (When it looks like Windex, you've got it just right)
1 generous wedge of lime, per glass, fresh squeezed.
Ice - Wayne preferred his 'rita frozen, but when served out at the Hun Farm, on the rocks was tradition.
