Hiked everywhere, shot tons of rounds through guns I will never be able to own, got dirty, skipped showers, ate MREs for 3 weeks straight, and now I'm at the USO at Raleigh Durham waiting for my flight to pendleton... MCT was a blast and it sucked at the same time. No other way to put it. I shot the m240, m249, m203, AT4....didn't get to shoot the m2HB .50 or the mk19, but I will get those at my MOS school. |
They let you smoke? I didn't smoke...but one night I was on a working party in the classrooms and I found a pack of marls and some copenhagen. I didn't get into it but the other 3 with me did. I hated the hiking the most....my plt was in the back and we always suffered from the accordion effect on the hikes at the range. |
What MOS are you that you'll get to shoot the heavy's at school? Obviously not infantry as you went to MCT vs SOI. Good times. They canc'd tobacco at MCT? Hell, I think they issued it when I went through... |
You said it, humping sucks when you're in the rear. eta: I was a comm bubba and got to shoot the 240, 249, 203, Deuce and Mk19 at MCT. |
Maybe he's an AAV,tanker, cannon cocker or MP? |
Shooting heavy weapons? Firing the m240 and m203 is standard training there(atleast when I was 2 years ago). You also get to shoot tracers form the AT-4, but we didnt get any trigger time with the saw. |
I was referring to the fact that he did not get to shoot the deuce or 19 at MCT, but would get them at MOS School. We fired all of them at MCT - but that was several years back. I was just wondering what MOS might involve them in MOS training but does not attend SOI. All I could come up with were some of the vehicle crewman schools, and maybe MP (what with the heavy use of MP elements in force protection in Iraq/Afghanistan. |
1833 AAV crewman. The AAV mounts a .50 and a 40mm GL...only things I did not shoot at MCT. Yeah, no tobacco at MCT. Some guys still brought it in, some got away with it and some did not. We had one turd in our platoon that had been at MCT 5 months. 5 months! He had 3 NJPs then refused to train one day....still in legal platoon waiting for his BCD along with another turd who refused to train. |
21 years ago in Army BCT, NO TOBACCO AT ALL. There was one guy who tried. First time, we all got busted. We came back from the range to see ALL of the matresses out on the lawn, thrown OUT THE 3rd FLOOR WINDOW. Every locker was FUCKED. So we gave him a blanket party. Second time, he got chaptered after being caught down main street, trying to get out the front gate. MPs caught him. We didn't have the M249 or the Mk19 but we did fire 10 rounds of .50 each, loading and clearing. A good belt through the M60, the sub-caliber rocket out of the M72A2 LAW, 5 rounds of practice M203 plus one of HE, two M67 frags plus a shitload of practice fuses in hand grenades. As i had quite the pitching arm before I went in, I did some destructive throwing with practice grenades. I knocked the head off two torso targets, impressing the cadre. |
Good job Devil! How's old Concentration Charlie doin'? ![]() You are lucky you missed what occurred when I was there. MCT overflowed and they sent about 100 of them to ITB and they lived and worked with us until their time was up. It got crazy. Club weapons! ![]() Did they eliminate land nav and stick in the Combat Hunters classes? |
Huge +1 I started dipping after that but quit and started smoking again after MCT. It was only 2 weeks in 99 and we got to shoot everything except for the AT-4... 203, 249, 240, M2 and Mk19 |
