I don't remember which position I took the last time we debated the merits of this program. Just put me down as being for whatever arfcom is against. ![]() Seems to me though that I remember the costs of these guys approaching the cost of an F-22 without the capabilities of the F-22. BTW...is the server that these images are hosted on connected to the internet through a 14.4 modem or something?

<---- Does not want. UK will split it's buy now between F-35B's to replace it's Harriers and buy 3 Squadrons worth of F-35C's to use as long range strike aircraft. |
NO ONE ASKED YOU WHAT YOU WANTED! Now eat your gruel and buy the fighters!

| i dont like the F35, or the 22 in particular. The 35 is trying to be used to replace too much too cheaply. they're trying to have a jack of all trades replace the aces of each suit. The only thing i think that they're actually good for is the VTOL variant replacing the harriers, and even then, I dont know how much its an improvement. |
We were offered them back in the day and politely declined. But it was nice of you guys to offer. |
???????????????????? I guess I don't see how the F-35s aren't very large improvements on what they're replacing. S/F, FOG |
The lift van for the STOVL version needs to go right behind the cockpit. |
USMC/USN NEEDS a jack of all trades Comparing the f-22 to the f-35 is apples and watermellons completely different role In a nutshell f-35: 1. stealthy so that it may provide its own SEAD on the first days and tango with any shitbird 1st/2nd/3rd world airforces (but would perfer to avoid the engagement) 2. After line item 1 is done it converts to a bomb truck cas platform |
