| Well I know I need compliance parts for my AK that I am going to build. Do the trigger groups count as 3 parts? Also, which ones do you guys recommend? And what is the difference between single hook and double hook? is it just a single hook is a single stage trigger and a double hook is a 2 stage trigger? |

Yes, they count as 3 parts. We used the tapco G2 trigger group and are happey with it. Double hook and single hook just refer to the number of hooks that hold the hammer. Some claim they get a smoother let off with double hook. You'd get much better info in the AK build it yourself forum. http://www.ak47.net/forums/forum.html?b=4&f=51 |
| Look at the hole for the trigger in your receiver. Are there little notches on both front corners or only one? One notch=single hook Two notches=double hook The double hook was used on early milled AKs. The Soviets decided to simplify production on later models by going to one hook. Some like the added security of knowing that a double hook can function even if one hook breaks, however, I've never heard of a hook breaking. I have Tapco G2 single hooks in all my AKs. |
