The War against Private Transportation For decades, at least since the early 70's, the political left has been waging a war against private transportation. Other than places like New York City, London and Washington DC their campaign hasn't gained much traction. Shame didn't work, Clint Eastwood saying "I love public transportation" in a movie didn't work, nothing worked for them. The fact that Clint had to impose on coworkers to get where he wanted to go didn't help the cause much. London imposing an $16 per day charge on private vehicles was probably more effective but it's only in London. blog.wired.com/cars/2008/02/london-oks-25-c.html The left has a new tool and this one may actually work, it's called Bio Fuels. Bio Fuels are automobile fuels made from food crops or even non food plant matter. It's the 'made from food' part that is the magic, the golden BB to kill the private vehicle. Fact is the scheme doesn't even require 'food to fuel', just diverting farm land from growing food for people and instead using it to grow food for SUV's, pickups and cars is enough. Diverting land use has the benefit of raising food prices to everyone especially the left's sacred cows: The Poorâ„¢ The first step is to mandate or coerce the use of 'food fuel' in motor vehicles. The tool here is ethanol blended in gasoline. The second step is to wage a disinformation campaign about rising food prices, hunger and especially hunger on the left's beloved poverty ranch: Africaâ„¢. The third step will be to curtail the use of private vehicles on the grounds that it is "immoral" to feed SUV's while humans starve. At this point in time, spring 2008, step one has been partially accomplished and step two is in the works. Last night the left's disinformation service, the nightly news, ran a story on dirt cookies becoming a staple of the Haitian diet. The popular tv show American Idol ran it's propaganda campaign including Bono the Lesser dressed like Fidel Castro and wearing $130 sunglasses in Africa in the same picture frame as "starving" children. The Idol propaganda told viewers that these "starving" children subsist on $2 a day ($60 a month). Bono didn't mention that Cubans living in his ideal paradise subsist on $0.67 a day ($20 a month). Guess that truth was inconvient.www.associatedcontent.com/article/574395/haitians_rely_upon_mud_cookies_to_survive.html Also in the news India and various other nations are planning to ban the export of rice. The rice export ban should give the left's disinformation services plenty of useful photo-ops. Step three hasn't started yet but probably will by summer. |
