Sniper (about the Austin, TX shootings by Charles Whitman).

I requested it a couple of time at the radio station back in the '70s.  The last time I requested it the DJ said that "the station manager heard the song and won't allow me to play it any more."

You know Pete, I can't pick a favorite.

If you're interested, you might care to check out "Harry Chapin Greatest Stories Live".
An utterly fantastic album, and one of my favorites.

A Better Place To Be is a grand song.

My life is well represented by Taxi and Circle - my life is filled with way too many coincidences.

Just imagine thirty thousand pounds of bananas.
Yes, there were thirty thousand pounds of mashed bananas.

Taxi is one of my Favorites.  I got to see Harry Chapin in concert four different times.  He was just fantastic.  Would always come down into the crowd and talk to people after the concerts.  Was a great loss when he died.

My wife's aunt was married to Harry's brother Jim, he passed a few years back .

I met Tom Chapin a few years back, he does Children's songs.

Wife's favorite song is Flowers Are Red

Gotta wonder how many people around here even know who Harry Chapin is.  I'm 33 and know very few people my age or younger that know anything but the remake of Cat's in the Cradle.

I remember a few years ago a guy tellin me about this new singer that just came out and how great he was....and then put in a Santana CD.

Was swappin some vinyl a while back with a buddy, his daughter said "cool look at the big CD's"

Wonder what the average age around here is.

While I'll admit the humor in that line, did Harry Chapin sodomize you in a bus stop once or something?  You seem to have quite a grudge.

I wonder if Harry beat you to his record label, causing you to have to suck off bums through bus station glory holes or something?  Have you been left to life of squalor from his musical success?

I just made a harmless jest in the usual arfcom tradition and everyone is being very grim about it.  Like that kid in 10th grade who reported me for reading a comic book during detention.

That having been said, and since you ask, Harry's songs are too mopey for me.

If you like it, however, go to town.

If you're british, stop by the house for tea and strumpets.
