I saved some files of a part that i designed to the wrong configuration. How do you delete a Solidworks file? I tried to right click but nothing happens. There doesn't seem to be a delete tab on the tool bar anywhere. Thanks. |
so you are looking into a folder, you see the solidworks file, and there is an autosave file as well. you just right click and delete on both of them... what is the exact format you saved it in? .sldprt? were you able to save it in the format you desire? |
I wish I knew. ![]() I have been using this software for about 8 days. It is the first time that I have ever even seen CAD. Never even seen anyone else do it so I'm going in dead blind. Trying to learn on my own and low key. I'll try to follow your instructions. Thanks! |

Yes, you just need to delete it from whatever directory you are in if you are just trying to delete parts. There isn't any delete file option in SolidWorks. Now if you added some parts to an assembly configuration that you want to get rid of, then you can just right click in the design tree and delete them. |
I took a class on SolidWorks when I was a freshman, the prof. was more concerned on giving is points for stapling our papers at a 45* angle than teaching us how to use the SolidWorks... Thats how I learned how to use it! play play play and play some more! |
