| Looking for recommendations and ballpark estimates of price. Want something that could be used with a PC and a PDA. Pros and cons of your choice also appreciated. |

For what kind of use? for Palm OS PDAs, I use PBX for estimation of trajectories, good for finding zeros I use pocketSSF (Pocket Sharpshooters Friend) to compute drop, range, even BC when shooting at targets of an unknown range. (great piece of Freeware BTW). On the PC I just use the JBM website as his software is great, and one variant will print range cards with the data (environmental, cartridge, range, units) you specify. |

Whoops. You can get the 500y version of PBX free at www.MD-AR15.com (if you're a member - membership is free) it's in the Documents section. PocketSSF: My review is in the Archives (ARFcom members only: archive.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=348559). You can get the software here: www.proprock.chat.ru/files/pssf0995b.zip pSSF can also be downloaded here: Pocket Sharpshooters Friend JBM's site is of course at: www.eskimo.com/~jbm/ballistics/traj/traj.html For the range cards visit: Range Cards |

I don't remember where I got this from but this is a great ballistic calculator if you have Excel. It will work Pocket Excel if you use a Windows Mobile PDA. Excel Ballistic Calculator |
Another place to get it: handheld.softpedia.com/get/Educational/Science/pocket-SSF-Sharpshooter-Friend-36955.shtml Just google "pSSF Pocket Sharpshooters Friend" and you'll find other Palm OS software sites that offer it for free. |
