I'm behind the curve. Way behind. I horse traded some labor and got a new ipod classic 80gig. I don't know why I need one, but that was what was offered and now I have one. So I am taking all my CDs in my collection and ripping them to Itunes. Many just a few songs off the disc, others the whole disc. I have maybe 120 discs or so, and I have been at it all weekend. The freaky part is how damn fast it can transfer a few gigs of data to the ipod. It takes just a couple seconds. Why are the freakin' covers for the ipod so expensive? Anything I should get as a must have item? I'm gonna buy a car adapter and control it with my factory head unit in my blazer. Otherwise I don't really know what to do with it. |

Isn't that freaky? I built my PC with an 80gig hard drive. Now this ipod has one that big. I could back up my entire HD to my ipod! It does a lot more than I thought it could, yet doesn't do some things I think it should. They are making a freakin' killing on accessory prices from what I saw at target. It is kinda cool to have everything in my collection right there. If I get in a mood to hear some old obscure song... there it is. |
Do yourself a favor...make frequent backups of your music from the PC to CDr or DVD...especially if you buy tunes from Itunes... I have 2 ipods...a touch and a video I leave in my car...nice to carry 80% of my collection in my car or pocket...Although I do have 1 terabyte of HD if I was feeling crazy and wanted to fill it up with movies and tunes |
