Reminds me of The Incredible Machine.

I tried to install it a few weeks ago and it wouldn't run.  I need to see if there's an updated version.

ETA:  At home, my virus scanner goes nuts when I try to download Phun.  I'm researching this...apparently others have had the same problem, but I'm not sure whether it was determined to be a scanner error or an actual virus.

There's another one that's a lot simpler, that does run:

Crayon Physics

If you have a tablet PC, there is also a bit of Microsoft freeware that is cool:

Microsoft Physics Illustrator

I predict that something similar to this will become part of a future gaming system.   Imagine an online multiplayer game where one team's job is to build and defend a city
and the other team's job is to invade and conquer it.

Using a Phun type system for constructing, creating, and modifying tools and environmental
factors, it would truly become a battle of wits between the two teams.

The potential of this is beyond imagining.

That was a great game.

I bought it back in the day.

But when I try to run it on new systems it returns an error saying it doesn't run in this graphic mode - even when I set the display to the lowest level. Something about it being imcompatible with Truecolor display.

Shows you how old you are...

I downloaded and got it started.  Left my 9 year old son and when I came home he was showing me how to do many of the things show in the videos. That and some other cool stuff.

He says he knows how to build a spring powered gun... But was too tired to do it. My daughter tells me he was on it for 3 hours striaght.

I'll play with it later. ( Get my son to show me how it works)

I think u need to run it on an Emulator program.

There already is something similar to that, it's called Garry's Mod (source engine, a 3D physics sandbox).

The one thing that amazes me the most in this software is the way the water flows.  I doubt that current computers could handle that in 3D.

I think u need to run it on an Emulator program.

I downloaded DOSbox but the original game wouldn't run on that either - it said it needs to run in Windows. But when I run it in Windows it says this graphic mode is not supported.

I supposed there's a version made just to run in DOSbox - but I haven't registered at that site and jumped through their hoops to download it.

So there's no way to run the original version of The Incredible Machine on a new computer now?
