Kero might be bad for the pump as it lacks lubricity testing. Dyed fuel? They will pop you $10k if caught. But if you get some BLUE dyed 2-stroke oil, you can change that red into a purple-gray. |
Pardon my ignorance, but what is 'dyed fuel' and what is it used for? And why would putting it in a diesel engine be a crime? |
As compared to the natural yellowish green, that could raise a few eyebrows. |
Dyed or Red diesel is untaxed thus you aren't paying your rent for the right to operate on public roads |
Offroad disel is used in farm and construction equip, is taxed different, and IIRC does not comply with the same emission standards as street diesel. Won't hurt the vehicle at all unless it is newer. |
It's typically used with farm equipment, I believe. |
Heh. Midway Airport. I remember that. |
I'm gonna guess sometime around Late Summer/Fall 2000? |
Imagine that Southwest Airlines
|
Best thing I've seen all day. |
Nope, late 2005. I remember sliding around on a nearby bridge during that very same storm.
|
Diesel Hummer H1, two gas tanks, one is used for WVO, the other runs diesel. |
Don't remember the year, but it was winter and a jet slid off the end of the runway right across Cicero avenue due to snow and ice. So, no. Not late summer or fall...
|
DOT does random checks of all diesel vehicles around here. Not very often, but it does happen. |
Never had anyone ask to dip my tank don't really know what I would say, my gut says to not go along with it. |
I imagine you would say "Yes sir Mr. Officer, help yourself"..... |
Actually that photo is from the Burbank, CA overrun. Yes Southwest had 2 in less than 5 years |
Actually, not being a commercially licensed driver, I wouldn't, I would expect there to be some sort of court order to search the car. Or am I off base? |
