looks very good on comercial has it been released yet? Should I buy a 360 just because there are great games to play? (they must be leaps and bounds better than PS2 and xbox. What say arfcom? |

I found the commercial that makes me want to buy a system to play this game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=larWIi0I0VA This looks bad ass. |

Here is another preview. It sounds right wing to me. But if it is fun and a true fighting game I want it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IGy4QelEAs&NR=1 |
I'll take a LRPSGL. It sounds like fun. If the AI is following me it better know what it is doing. It better not forgit to fire, It better fire accurate and it can by no means get suck in a corner.

Nooo, buy a PS3. Paying for online is teh ghey. It's only $50 more than the 360 and you get a futureproof Blu-ray player out of the mix too. Handy since Blu-ray just won the format war a couple weeks ago. As for the game, I really want it, but I'm just not sure... I'm gonna rent it as soon as it shows up at the local Blockbuster, and if it's cool, I'll be buying it. |
I'll never pay for online play. I can't affort this GD internet to begin with ($45 per month). P.S. My PS2 is the only DVD player that I own. I had a co-worker ask me if VHS is still around. Kids theses days. ![]()

RR you know a decent high end grapics card is more than the cost of a basic 360 or ps3 right I've got over $600 tied up in a pair of 7900s and need to upgrade(DX10 issues if anyone cares) Not to mention seems like about all we get are direct ports of 360 games these days -Barry |
Well, if you get a 360, you have to pay recurring fees to play online with Arfcommers. If you get a PS3, you can play with Arfcommers for free, plus it upscales DVDs to 1080p if you have or ever get a high-def capable TV, and plays the new Blu-ray format movies. It's also compatible with USB and bluetooth accessories you might have right out of the box, rather than having to buy proprietary peripherals, the ethernet networking is 10x faster, and it'll communicate with a wifi network right out of the box as well. You can also recharge the wireless controllers right out of the box without having to either go through AA batteries repeatedly/go out and buy a separate play-and-charge kit like with the 360. I've got both systems (like a true Arfcommer, I 'got both' ), and I'll say very much the PS3's the better deal of the two. If you get the 80GB model (or even better, grab a 60 GB off eBay) it'll play your old PS2 games as well, and all models will play any PS1 games you might have.

Thanks for the info. I don't like internal batteries. I'd rather have to be able to recharge my own. I do like the fact that I can still play older games. I want a new ratchet and clank and an new car game eqivalent to Grand Torismo. I love halo 2 and bought xbox because of it. I've also seen some DMC (devil may cry) previews on T.V. I've alwasys loved that game. What say arfcome now? |
Well, still, the li-ions in the PS3 controllers are fine. I've been charging and discharging mine like crazy over the past year and they're still functioning without a hitch. Far as PS3 games go... there is a new Ratchet & Clank out now, and of course Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is out in April, with the full game out later in the year. Also got Metal Gear Solid 4 coming, and Killzone 2 (trailer; it's a lot of folks' pick for the likely best shooter in 2008 on any system, and has the biggest budget a videogame has ever had). I'd also highly, HIGHLY recommend Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (trailer). Think interactive Indiana Jones movie. It was my favorite game of 2007, hands down. On the 360, you've got good stuff too. Gears of War is fan-friggin-tastic (best game on the 360 IMO) with a sequel on the way this November, Halo 3 is available (while still not as good as Halo 1 was, IMO, it was much better than Halo 2), and if you like racing there's Project Gotham (though it's never been quite to Gran Turismo level, IMO). Dead Rising is also a great game if you like zombie survival action. And as for the new Devil May Cry, Army of Two, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and Call of Duty 4, all of those are out or will be out on both systems. So I guess weigh what games interest you the most, along with are you interested in a high-def movie player (PS3 only), do you want to pay for online (Xbox Live) or get it for free (PS Network), and do you already have third party USB/bluetooth peripherals you'd like to be able to use with your system like a keyboard, mouse, wireless headset, etc. |
Please, please, please do not buy this game. Especially not if you have internet access, as XBOX live is only 50 bucks a year. COD4 + XBOX live is literally worse than crack. I don't do shit when I go to my parents house. Really, if the damn thing is in the same building as you are, you're screwed. Running around middle eastern towns while trading insults with British kids and blasting away with a red-dot equipped M14 is perhaps the most fun I have had without a real gun in my hands. Justifies the expense (XBOX, XBOX Live, Divorce, Unemployment, etc. Just get it.) |
