I have no problem copying an image from somewhere (like a custom image from Microsoft Paint) and pasting it in a Word document. However, I can't seem to move it once it's in there. There appears to be no way to drag it to where I want it on the page. Is it even possible? Thanks

Word 2003

Insert a text box, put the pic in the box, then you can move the box around.

Whenever I do that, the box automatically appears at the top of the page nowhere near the image.

I suck at this.

Make sure the text box is selected and that there is a blinkng cursor in it.

Try saving the image/graphic to your desktop.  The click on Insert > Picture > From File, choose your file on the desktop.  See if that improves things.

It's a bit klunky, but this works

Open the Word doc that has the image you need.

Save the file as .html (it may be .htm I don't remember off hand)

Now browse to where you saved the file.  There will be a sub directory (img or pic something like that) with all the pictures in it

That appears to have done the trick. Thanks.

And thanks everyone

Your only solution is to ALT+F4...

then go to your command line and type Format C:

Hit the Paragraph button, looks kinda like a capitol P.   This will reveal the "hidden" spaces, and the anchor for graphic objects.  You can then grab the anchor and put it where you want.
