I figure ARFCOM's beer aficionados need a thread to swap reviews and recommendations. PLEASE NO REVIEWS OF CHEAP, MASS-PRODUCED MACROBEERS (Bud, Coors, Miller, etc.)!

I'll start.  My favorite beers (and their respective styles) are Blue Moon (Witbier), Dogfish Head 60/90 Minute IPA (India Pale Ale), Sam Adams Honey Porter (Porter), and Guinness/Guinness Extra Stout (Stout).

I'm currently drinking a Guinness Extra Stout.  It is definitely bolder tasting than the normal Guinness, and I like that because sometimes regular Guinness tastes too thin to me.  I would describe its taste as slightly earthy and slightly burnt.

I love Stone Ruination IPA, St. Pauli Girl, and Silver Gulch Fairbanks Lager.

I think AR15.com needs its own brew. Should have a strong full bodied gunpowder taste, with a hint of CLP.

Yeah.  I actually prefer it to Hoegaarden because Hoegaarden is a little too spicy for my tastes and seems to have a metallic bite to it.

I've got over 600 reviews on Ratebeer but I'm not about to post my name there!!

I prefer double IPA's myself.  Actually, I prefer anything "Imperial" from Imperial pilseners to Imperial stouts.  Not a big fan of Belgians or most bocks.

Hard to nail down favorite beers.  Easier to pick breweries.  I have my favorite go-to's which are mainly local, like Sweetwater or Terrapin.  I'm also a fan of most everything from Bells, Avery, Dogfish, Allagash, Nogne, Lagunitas, Three Floyds, Jolly Pumpkin, Dark Horse.

Beeradvocate and Ratebeer seem to think very highly of Three Floyds.  I'm constantly on a search for their Imperial Stout, but no luck yet.

My favorites, in no particular order - I have tried all the brands below.
Franziskaner - Awesome, consistant quality, Helles and Dunkels are both excellent

Schneider  - excellent, their Aventinus is the best Doppelbock hands down.
Ayinger - excellent
Erdinger - excellent
Weihenstephaner - excellent, oldest brewer in Bavaria
Paulaner - IMHO just average, could be I just haven't had a good one
Tucher - excellent, they make good Helles, Dunkels, and Kristal
Hacker-Pschorr - excellent, very fruity

If you are talking about their Dark Lord Stout, you pretty much have to attend their once-a-year "darklord day" festival in Munster or get it in a trade or buy it online.  I've never had it.  I've had their dreadnaught IPA a few times, which is widely available in the midwest year round, but the DL is hard to come by.

I tried Victorys: "Storm King: Imperial Russian Stout" and though I am not expert on IRS's I found it to be quite good. And it is also regarded quite highly by ratebeer.com (100%). I suggest that if you can,to give it a try.

I stopped reading here.

Blue Moon is produced by Molson Coors and is an attempt to capitalize on the success (not that I, as a capitalist, don't approve, in a broad sense) of traditional actual Belgian beers and American craft brewers versions.

I like all styles of beer, but the favorite style is Hefeweizen.  Brew my own most of the time, however lately have had to buy.

Julius Echter is my current favorite.  The Germans make the best.  Also have been drinking the Flying Dog In Heat Wheat, and would say it is one of the better Hefe's made here in the states.

All beer snobs can suck it. Miller High Life is as a good a summer beer as any micro lager I've tried. It's light and crisp and not too hoppy with a clean after taste. I've gone back to it for a hot weather drink since Rolling Rock sold out to AB.

Just left the Twisted Pine brewery.

If you like malt with a bit of hops, the Red is amazing. If you make it to the brewery, and it's on tap, try the Whiskey Red. It's their Red Mountain Ale aged in (I believe) Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels.

IPA fans will like Hoppy Boy. A bold, classic IPA.

On top of that, if you make it to the tasting room, there's a Nintindo Wii to play

This is the issue - most of the brews I seek out aren't avalable outside of Colorado. Many aren't even sold in six packs

First off,ANY beer that I make. For hot weather gimme a Shiner Blond or a Shiner Wheat(heffeweisen)beer.
