My kid brother recently got Season Two of The Office on DVD. I've been going over my parent's a lot lately to visit with my Dad (pretty much every day) and my brother won't let me leave without watching at least one episode with him. So, having seen pretty much all of season two I am prepared to make my assessments of some of the characters. Personally, I think that Dwight is a better man than Jim. Dwight lives in a 9 bedroom farm house in the country, has a shooting range in his back yard, was deputy sheriff and is banging a pretty hot little blonde. Jim on the other hand is a slacker and an instigator who obviously lets his fears hold him back from bagging the woman that he loves (and who also apparently has a thing for him). He accomplishes nothing and his whole existence seems to be to torment Dwight and flirt with a woman that he doesn't have the balls to actually go for. Watching Michael on the show is actually sometimes uncomfortable for me. I have had bosses like him and his levels of incompetence and bullshit bring back memories of the worst jobs I've ever had. Stanley is awesome! The episode about personal reviews had me in stitches! "No, no! I did learn it in the streets, in the ghetto in fact!" <break> "It's all about my bonus" ![]() Kevin is awesome too. He's a total perv and that is something I can respect. Oh, and I would totally do both Angela and The Lovely Jan Levinson-Gould. |
I see you have not made it to season 3 yet |
thats season 4 you are talking about. |
+1. American version is a lot better. But then some of the plot lines, set ups in the American version are nearly identical to the British. I just think the American version pulls it off better. |
You Americans are obviously not sophisticated enough! |

Its my favorite show, but I only started watching it roughly 3-4 months ago. I like Michael's character because he is such an incompetent asshole, but he does really care about his employees and the company. I really like The Office because its one of the few shows that I care about what happens to the characters. |
True. But I don't think the Australians have much in the way of sophistication either. I mean we've all seen Crocodile Dundee and know what you Australians are like. |
The British version's jokes are all sexually related and I really didn't like that. It wasn't funny. |
