Is it possible to send a fax with my computer?

I'm using XP home.

No, the modem used to send a fax is different than the standard dial-up modem.

Go to a fed-ex kinkos or something.

ETA: It actually is possible with a dial-up modem, but the software to do that is $60!

yes...most modems these days still support fax...just "print" a document, and when you get to the properties screen select "Fax" as your printer, it will set everything up for you.
you can also use efax.com

yes. there is a service you can buy that allows you to send them digitally. without a phone line. and then there is the standard dial up fax modem that should do it.

press start, then click on "printers and faxes"
right click on an open area and go to fax setup.

If you have MS Office, it has a fax-utility thing in it, I have Office 2K that does.... But you still need a dial-up connection.
