They aren't a good target.

Monitors make to big of a mess and it takes too much time to clean up the shooting area.

Provided the person shooting it cares enough to clean it up. Not saying the op isn't, but there are a lot of assholes that frequent our range.

Just be sure to stand back , especially for smaller calibers. I have seen quite a few bounce off and do very little damage to those thick CRTs.

Definitely 12 gauge.  For more fun, hit it from the side instead of straight on.  See what will go through.

so far, it looks like .45ACP is the best round for computer monitors

Would you not need a fresh monitor to prove that?

It's an Apple monitor - should have gone with bow and arrow and done a William Tell on it!

If that's not an option - I will add my vote to the list of 'Tannerite' suggestions...

Peace,

What the fuck else are you going to do w/ it [tannerite]?
It's not like he'd be putting that much in it to cause buildings to shake and dump truck beds to blow apart.

I moved back quite a bit for this one.  I dont think the first round exited the monitor. It hit a good amount of metal and glass in the bottom of the cabinet. The other round took out a huge chunk of the backstop after passing through the monitor.
