| we just bought a new (to us) house, and we are stripping wallpaper, most is easy with a paper tiger and dif. BUT there is some border that is about impossible, and taking forever. Anybody try steam or a heat gun, or have any other ideas? |

There was this stuff my mom recommended when my wife and I did it, I think it is called Zip. You just put it on and wait about 20 min and it just comes off. Home Depot has it and so does Lowes. I would ask if I don't have the name right, it is like a blue gel. BTW Thx for the sweet price on 7.62x39 I just bought 1000 rounds a couple of weeks ago! |
Soapy Hot Water. Don't waist your money on DIF. Had a guy who does painting/wallpaper for a living tell me that. Be damned if it doesn't work great. ETA : The other half of the sentence that I missed.

+1 +![]() www.zinsser.com/default.asp This stuff is great. I think it says to apply and then wait 20 min., they are not kidding. To speed it up a bit and make it a little more effective I scored the paper and then used a wet sponge with hot water and wet the paper down and waited till I could see the water soak in and then applied the Dif, the paper came off in whole sheets and the walls were not even sticky. You can use just water or steam but you will still need to remove the adhesive. The Dif is an enzyme that "eats" the adhesive and just makes it go away, it works as advertised. |
