Long and short of it is I need to send a hard drive to be recovered.  Looking around online I see prices everywhere from $500 to $2000.  Anybody ever use any of these services?  Any recomendations?  How successful where they?

Thanks for any help y'all have,

Dan

Give Easeus Data Recovery software a try. It saved a bunch of lost data for me, and was really easy to use.

I had good luck with Ontrak Drive Recovery, and SpinRite for the real bad ones.

Did you try and software solutions first?

try changing out the controller. get an *identical* drive, or one that uses the same controller (see ID numbers on the board itself) and swap them. I did this for $15 buying one off of ebay, saved me tons.

Drive Savers out of California was our preferred vendor back when I was with a Global IT firm.
