I'm in my junior year of a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  I applied for a summer internship with a company about a week ago, and got a call today asking if I would be interested in an Industrial Eng. type position at their distribution center.  I said yes, and we set up a phone interview for tomorrow.

So, what kind of tips do you guys have, this will be my first interview ever.  My previous jobs have been with people that I knew and asked me.  I'll have a copy of my resume and cover letter handy, and I would like to get a sheet made up with some answers to common interview questions.

I know a lot of you guys own businesses or do interviewing for your company, what do you look for during phone interviews?  What kind of questions do you usually ask?

Thanks for the help

typical interview questions.
write names and such down as you hear them (and positions)
STAND UP when you are doing it.
your brain works better, you think better, and you project and sound better.
make sure you are someplace quiet, do not let yourself be interrupted.  This is a professional position, you should be professional.  some guy walking in and yelling 'dude you got any beer" is pretty much a bad thing.
don't use a cell phone.  It sounds like $hit.

phone interviews are screens.  The are going to spend 15-30 minutes asking some basic questions and trying to see if you might fit.  Be exciting.  They will ask about your project , things that interest you, why you want to work for them, etc.
You have to stand out from the crowd.

That's a coincidence as I just got through having 3 phone interviews today with the same company for a contract position.  What the poster above said will do you fine.

Oh, and have questions to ask, it shows you have an active interest.  Make sure you know something about the company you are interviewing with too.
