Has anyone purchased any military surplus in the last year or two and then received a letter from the private liquidation company requesting it back?  Filled out all of the domestic-use only paper work required and now, 12 months later they are requesting it back.  WTF?

Nope.  The only paper work I know of involves handing over some cash.

i know occasionally they interned surplus (like the T-6 durning Korea), and need cargo aircraft  (in ww ll the production Douglas a/c) to press into service.

some few years back there was a rumor going around that ALL surplus was going to be revert back to gubberment ownership:  like old tanks, rifles, vehicles...

Actually received a follow-on e-mail, that this may be part of the DC bureacracy doing a CYA after they sold some F-14 parts (oops!) to Iran through some straw buyers.hock.gif
