Couple things..I've adopted two. 1.) The US has plenty of kids that need homes. Look around here before you go looking for a foreign model. 2.) Except any kid you get to come with problems..some will be worse than others..a lot depends on their personality. Read about reactive attachment disorder. Expect your child to have it. |
I really don't want to deal with the natural parents at any time in the childs life. I am only interested in an infant. |
I seen something on TV a wile back about an adopted Soviet kid that totally flipped out. He went around shoving sticks up his ass and hitting himself in the mid section.

Whoa there. There was nothing racist about my answer. I want a child that resembles my family and I. I don't want him to feel different. Nice uninformed personal attack. I'm not infertile. |
I actually restrained myself, ya blank shooter. |
Quit shitting on my thread. |
Yeah, the orphanage/infant foster care in Russia is so sparsely staffed that whole rooms of infants are left unattended for several hours/shifts at a time. There's someone there only a few times a day in many of these cases just to change diapers and re-tuck them. Without physical human interaction, an infant brain essentially moves forward with a completely undeveloped component. They can be VERY strange in social situations with other kids if the parents are unaware of these things and don't seek to help them. Imagine having to sit down for hours every...single...night with your 5 and 6 year old adopted Russian sons and try to make them understand that you're never going to send them back and that you love them. But it still will take years to get them to understand this. |
Do they adopt infants? Like less than a week old? |
![]() ![]() ![]() You're right though. OP didn't specify he was looking for a certain race or anything. If I were adopting I'd adopt a kid from Asia. |

Is there really such a shortage of Caucasian infants in the US that you cannot adopt locally? Are the UK and Germany actually offering up Caucasian kids for adoption by Americans? There are lots of former Soviet republics that have kids, but most will require that you be able to prove that you are of the same descent. My uncle of Lithuanian descent and his wife were able to adopt two Lithuanian boys, but they had to go to great lengths to prove that they were indeed of Lithuanian descent. Again, are there truly no Caucasian babies available in Nevada? |
Are you Asian? |
Yes, but as I stated earlier, I don't want any problems down the road with the natural family. I have heard alot of horror stories. |
No i'm not actually asian though I have been mistaken for being Chinese several times....growing up my cousin called me the Mongoloid ![]() I think Asians are a good choice because they are cute and by adopting them you are probably giving them a shot at survival where they may be sold as slaves etc in their home country. Of course this doesn't change much from adopting from Russia or somewhere else I guess. If you really want the kid to be like you and your wife adopt a white American...why even ask..? |
