My wife, who is 24, was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer. She went through a two week dose of "Prevpac" which contains lansoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin. It seemed that things got a little better for a while, but fairly quickly she started having the same pain and stomach problems again. Would it be worth it to do another round of these antibiotics? We don't have health insurance, and it cost us over $1000 for no long term improvement the last time. Is there anything else we can do that doesn't involve going back to a GI specialist and paying through the nose? |
