So, the other day at work while one of the other operators was relieving me.... The plant manager came into the control room and started to ask me about the subgun match I was attending in 2 days. The PM is a yankee liberal that was all for gun control until he found out about my hobby and I have really got him to come around to the land of common sense over the last year. Anyhow the other operator is an older guy that was in the navy during vietnam and always tells story's of covering Seals with .50 cal sniper rifles and being on swift boats and also battleshps and dumping helos at the end of the war. Pretty much a shit talker.  Anyhow he is tolerable and not too bad of a guy as long as you know he is full of it. Well I think he gets a little butt hurt becouse the PM takes a real interest in this comp and states that he would like to attend a match some time. So he starts on a rant about how only LE and military should be allowed to have semi and FA weapons becouse the are the only ones that know how to operate these weapons and goes on for a minute about this shit and his experience with FA weapons and finally ends it with "If you cant hit a deer with 1 shot you should not own a gun". I was floored at his ignorance and gall to try to make me look like a fool in front of our boss. I just replied that I dont use my MG's for hunting, thats what my .50 bmg is for. I also let him know that I believed that the 2nd was not about hunting and I could give a shit what he thought and finished it with an invite to shoot my M16. The thing that really gets me is that he is always telling me about all the guns he has and how he used to convert them to FA by filing down the firing pin and all that crap. I am a little disgusted by his obvious attempt to try to impress the boss. Anyhow I was just posting this here becouse it has been bothering me all week and could use some input from y'all. Werd to Fudd: where is "hunting" mentioned - even alluded to - in the constitution? Reading is fundamental, but reading the constitution, fed papers, & other related contextual references is unfortunately optional. Remind Elmer that the ability to take up arms in the defense of freedom against tyranny is a far cry higher on the priority scale than some hobby. |
The Plant manager is the yankee liberal, although he is starting to come around and now understands what an assault rifle is. Its the other operator who I liked alot more before this shit that was running his mouth and just generaly made himself look like a dumbass. I am not worried about this or anything, I guess just a little disapointed that he showed his true colors and I now dont like him as much. Hell I will probally go back in next week and he'll be telling me how he has an M16 but does not feel like going shooting. He is just one of those FN idiots that always has something to say to try to 1 up you. |
