After watching the 50 cal DE hog video and reading some of the responses reguarding quick kills, I thought I'd show a quick kill.  So many people said there was no such thing,  but anyone who hunts enough knows there are some shots that are DRT.  Massive shock to the CNS or like this video a razor through the heart.  This is  A large Boar (bear)taken with a bow.   I've seen this happen enough times to know that there is just something super lethal about a NO-Shock razor through the heart to make a quick kill.  Perhaps it's the lack of Adrenalin that would follow a loud shot or shock of a high energy hit.

If you watch the timer there is a total of 6 seconds from shot to dead on ground, and the bear never moved once it hit the ground.  Warning you may get sea sick in the second half of the short video as I was turning loose dogs instead of running the camera.

If anyone is interested in the story about this bear,  It was a boar we ran at least 10 different times.  It would beat the tar and run the legs off the dogs but never tree.  On several occasions we saw it as It ran ahead of the dogs but never offered a shot.  Several dogs were layed up for a few weeks after run-ins with this bear,  but on this occasion it finally treed and I was able to get under it, and a friend of mine took it with a bow.

quick kill

I also have on video (but its too long to download to Google) a large boar shot 4 times with a 7mm Mag.  All 4 shots were in the heart lung area.  It took almost 5 minutes to die and fall out of the tree, it just kept sitting there like nothing was wrong.

Super Quick clean kills are possible.  But the kill on the hog video I referenced earlier was a fairly quick kill as well.  Thanks to half dozen poorly placed 50 cal shots at close range

I go for lung/heart vital area. When they drop , and I hear a sucking chest wound I know it was a good hit and I will let them bleed out.

Good clean kills make for easier tracking.
